The world’s first completely biodegradable shoe is a major step towards tackling plastic pollution. Scientists at UC San Diego led by Professors Robert Pomeroy, Stephen Mayfield, and Michael Burkart, are using their innovative technology to create plastics derived from algae, and hope to apply their product to many other sectors.
